Sprayed Polyurethane
Used in building construction for many decades, polyurethane is the most common type of spray foam insulation. Chemicals are mixed and react to form a foam that helps:
- Insulate
- Air seal
- Protect against moisture
This material can be applied as high-pressure foam (typically used in new construction) or low-pressure foam which is available as open-cell or closed-cell. Open-cell foam is highly effective at helping absorb sound and often used in interior walls. Closed-cell foam is denser and more moisture-resistant.
