Types of Insulation We Install

The Metro Home team can insulate warehouses, factories and other industrial buildings with different materials, including:

  • Fiberglass: Fiberglass, which has been used to insulate homes for decades, is available as blown-in or batts. Fiberglass is made of tiny glass fibers and is often installed in attics but can be used to insulate other areas as well.
  • CelluloseCellulose is environmentally friendly—it consists of up to 85% recycled material and takes less energy to make than other insulation materials—and can be installed in many areas of a home (walls, attic, etc.).
  • Spray foam: Typically made of polyurethane, spray foam is applied wet and expands into thick foam. Spray foam insulation can be installed in crevices and hard-to-reach areas and can help reduce air infiltration. Metro Home Insulation is the largest foam insulator within the IBP network!
  • Vinyl: Vinyl is a synthetic plastic comprised of polyvinyl chloride. The material is used for everything from phonograph records and seat covers to window frames and siding. Today, vinyl is the second most manufactured plastic in the world.
  • Rigid foam: Like it sounds, rigid board insulation is available as a foam panel that can be cut. The sizes most often used are 2 x 8 feet and 4 x 8 feet, but the panels vary in thickness and width. Rigid foam insulation is mainly used for new construction projects, and in our experience, it is a great solution for insulating homes and buildings and maximizing energy efficiency.
